Season 2 - 2010
This is my second year of making videos. These videos are much better than the first season, however this year was kind of a transition stage for me. Halfway through this season I upgraded from iMovie to a professional video editing studio, complete with a green screen, custom lighting and Final Cut for editing. This season is kicked off by a 2-part series about flying by RC Boxplane in Rwanda Africa, there are some videos of smaller projects I did throughout the year, and finishes in the middle of a larger series regarding my attempts to build a portable rc cameraplane. Season 3 will continue where I left off this year, so make sure you bookmark my page and subscribe to my channel. Also to support my efforts favourite a few of my videos and tell your friends!
Flying a Plane in Africa
Over the summer of 2009 I spent 7 weeks in a very poor region of Rwanda, Africa. I was there privately with my family, and we were staying at a Trades School in a village, helping out as best we could. While we were there, I built my annular wing airplane and flew it over the village. Watch the videos, They are amazing and will give you more details about everything from my trip there to the build procedure of the plane. Free plans for this plane are available on the right of this blurb. If you build this plane, please make a video of it flying, load it on youtube and send me a message or email of the link. Let's see how many countries we can get this plane flying in! Also, here is the link to the website of the school we were staying at. Please donate according to the instructions on the website. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Canada Friendly RC Plane
Canada isn't a great place to live if you are a scratchbuilder. By far the best material for scratchbuilding planes is 1/4" insulation foam, however in Canada this stuff is impossible to come by. The closest stuff you can get in Canada (without paying huge shipping fees) is 1/2" insulation foam, available from most home improvement stores. This two part series shows as I struggle to design a suitable airplane built out of 1/2" pink foam. Note than in my other videos, such as the foamcub, vtol and annular wing series, I was using peices of 1/2" insulation foam cut with a hot wire. (NOT easy to do...)
