Season 1 - 2009
My first year of making videos. I had been flying for a year when I first started this website, and I had a keen interest in flying. Although I eagerly ran home at lunch hour to fly my supercub, often returning late for math class, my interest soon drifted far away from conventional aircraft. I became fascinated with old, forgotten concepts from WWII, which were lost after the war ended. I did an extensive project on annular winged aircraft and entered it into the science fair. Due to my extensive research and professionally executed presentations, I was able to go to the Canada Wide Science Fair, where I won two medals and a special award. The money I made from the science fair was used to fuel my passion, and supplies were quickly bought to continue with my experiments. Along the way, I made some videos showing my work. These videos make up my first season of Experimental RC. NOTE: For bonus episodes and promo videos hit up my youtube channel.
The FoamCub Mini-Series
The first two episodes of Experimental RC. I attempt to describe the process involved in building from scratch a basic radio controlled trainer. Is this the beginnings of something new and exciting? Or is it just some kid who is going to cut his fingers off with an exacto knife? You be the judge.
If you actually want to build this plane, you can download the PDFs below, however I strongly recommend you instead build the Blu-Baby Trainer on RC Groups, as this was my first plane so it isn't anything spectacular.

NOTE: IMO, this is the best place to get electronics for your scratchbuilt planes from. The stuff here is decent quality, cheaper than local stores and faster, cheaper shipping that other stores in Hong Kong. Also, Hobby City is a very nice store as well.
Annular Wings - 4 Part Series
Tailsitter VTOL Mini-Series
This mini-series shows my attempts to develop a really easy to build and fly tailsitter VTOL. (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) I went through close to ten prototypes before I built something that worked as I wanted it to. Free plans for my VTOL are available below this blurb. This plane is a lot of fun to fly, and is quite easy to build, not requiring any specialized parts.

Building a PropJet
As a simple project to wrap-up the this season (in RC stuff, at least) I decided to attempt to build a PropJet. Aside from looking cool, there isn't anything too exciting about these designs, however there is a lot of crashing which makes this three-part series quite entertaining to watch.
Flight Testing the Parkzone Vapor
This is a fun little plane. Certainly a must have to kill the flying bug when the weather is bad.
Animals of Africa
A slideshow of animals from my trip to Rwanda.
